Anonymous: holy crap, how the hell do you color tsn caps so beautifully? i've tried and tried, and failed endlessly. SHARE UR SECRETS & MORER PSDS

Oh anon, coloring tsn is a pain in the ass for everybody. I give up most of the time tbh, it’s really frustrating. *sighs*

Well, on my last graphic I used on every screencap a b&w gradient map as base for the coloring (as you can see in the psds), and I chose the easiest caps to color, so it worked (i don’t think it would have worked well on the really yellow ones). And when you can’t get rid of all the yellow, embrace it (sort of), like, play with the background (like I did here), etc. Also, I almost always use surface blur, because I like the soft effect it creates. :)

psd 1 & 2 (both have the same structure tho).

Anonymous: como é esse efeito do seu icon preto e branco? tem como fazer um tuto explicando? os meus nunca ficam assim :(

Serve psd? Eu sou terrivel pra explicar as coisas. :/ Mas, basicamente, eu usei surface blur, apliquei uns efeitos de luz (dodge tool) e depois essa textura:

(The anon asked for a tutorial of how I did that effect on my icon, but since i’m awful at explaning things I made a psd instead + the texture I used.)

Anonymous: how did you achieve this effect? /post/12119801053

Not exactly the same colouring but it’s the same theory.

Well, basically I duplicated the first layer and then I applied the filter “Surface Blur”, the settings will be defined according to the picture, of course, but these were mine:

I set the layer to Screen then I duplicated again and set to Soft Light (sometimes use Hard Light as well) :

before

after

And then I start to colour.

I hope it helps you :)
